does everyone really pay attention to the caution thats sometimes in red at bottom of profiles????? jus curious............thanks |

Personally, it is a new feature and I don't pay much attention to it as I go on my instincts more than anything. I have a pretty good track record with my selections and I know better than anyone else whom or what I'm seeking. As long as there are safety measures put in place all is good.
For a new person getting into the lifestyle, I would recommend using this feature as their instincts are not as seasoned and the chances for bad experiences are a LOT higher.

Honestly I dont think many pay attetion to a profile at all all they see is a pic and the rest of their brain shuts down lmao You can add things in the headline or at top of profile it doesnt matter it will not be read my most. gary |

I have not met anyone from this site. My first M&G should of been the 18th, they were a no show, I was there. My Certs or certification on another site, are the, TSC, owners, hosts of a swing club in Nashville, Al & Donna. Kasidie, Scott & Nicolettea. JD, Jack & Dona. JP, Alen & Leslie. RMCSC, Steve & Susan. RMP, Don & Jen. These are all groups, owners, clubs or hosts that I've met. On this site, I'm a nobody.
I read profiles. Just because they have no Certs, is no reason to pass them up.

Well said Mr Bopper! I pay more attention to whom the person interacts with (that's why I LOVE the forums) and their profile write up because it says a lot more than what a "cert" can. I have met many people whom have had high accolades from others, but for me.... they turned out to be an ass. And others whom said this guy (or gal) is not worth a hoot has become a true friend within the lifestyle.
What it truly comes down to is being smart, setting up the right type of meeting and having your backup plan if things go awry.
And Mr Bopper.... if ya ever in my neck of the woods you better lemme know I'll Cert ya....I mean insert ya lol

well according to my experience here so far....we are brand new to the site this week. Still learning all kinds of things (as far as the way the site works) We took for granted the Street cred: "was great to meet off line" and we were stood up the day we went to meet, their profile was gone. They had sent us mail but after blocking us or deleteing their profile we couldnt read it. We decided to uphold our end of the meet only to be stood up. After an hours travel and in not great weather...learned my lesson. Take your time and meet on line first. Trust your instinct!!! |

It happens all the time dont get discouraged. We drove an hour before to meet someone for dinner also. We waited almost 45 minutes befor getting appetizers. After another 30 minutes and about 5 phone calls with no answer we ordered our steak eat and left. We found out later that the wife didnt know anything about meeting and we even knew these people for a year. We just chaulked it up as oh well life goes on we still got to eat a steak dinner lol lol lol

You know it's funny, as a single girl I had never been stood up but as a couple it seems the odds take a big dive into the chances of it happening. It is sad that even after a year of talking to this person that they didn't have the decency to meet you or just plain not make the date period if they knew it was not going to happen. At least you guys got a dinner out if it, that is why I think its a safe bet to always meet at a restaurant or pub!

Thanks... and yes we still had a wonderful night the two of us telling each other what that couple missed out on lol we had a good night reguardless and I have leftovers :drool: |

I hear you sharon, yes a restaurant or bar is a good place to meet. But we have found it is very hard to hear someone in that invironment just too loud and too many things going on. Now for us since we have parties once a monthwe prefer to meet new people that way. We can have 10 couples saying they are coming for sure, now 4 of the 10 wont show up and 4 of the couples havent missed a party in 3 years. So now what are the odds of being stood up, at least if we are at the house we know we will have atleast 4 couples show for a great nite.
as far as the other couple we had met them at a house party once before. This was going to be our first 2 on 2 date lol I guess the thing I am tying to get out is you have a bigger risk of being stood up then not

This is what I do too. If I say I'm going to meet, I do. Their profile now has a block on it, BUT I also have a mail from them this morning, that I can't answer. Their also very new and have no street credit. 'We' were to be our first. Keep trying, some times life just gets in the way. Other times, it's just best to move on.

Shirley & I don't pay 2 much attention 2 the street creed... At the bottom of profiles... It's an internal survey within swingtowns... & is basted on the jiber jaber of the mail system of member's. It's more of a security measure for newbies... Like Sharon said, it's always best 2 have a back up plan... You never know what the hell your gonna get into lol Never swing along! Tator... |
